Estancia Pampas El

Short
Getaway while in Buenos Aires
- Chose from 2 to 5 nights
Let yourself experience the amazing opportunity to
discover the endless Argentine Pampas on the back of our
Creoles, the horses of the legendary Gauchos. These
Creole horses have a strong pace, steel nerves and a
high endurance. They are known to be a quiet partner
with a high performance. Our horses are kept in herds
at the meadows and are friendly to all levels of riders.
Whether you are a beginner or highly-experienced, we
have the ideal partner to ride and enjoy the
unsurpassable adventure of “Riding as a gaucho”.
You can experience that famous picture showing the
lonely rider followed by his faithful dog while you ride
at sunset. Our horses are ridden following the typical
Argentine custom to work in the countryside, which means
only one hand to hold the reins with the bit. They react
to the smooth pulls of the reins and movements of your
body weight. Most of our saddles are typically used for
work (rugs, horse-ball, Chilean).
IT-ARSRBA
Rates include lodging, all meals and riding excursion Per day/night $140
Single + $30
... min 2 nights
... Day Ride only with lunch ... $75 Open: All year
Meeting: S.Andres de Giles
Transfer: transfer from Buenos Aires $120 return, or
take local bus for $20 Min Age: 13 years
Here are some
of the examples for the riding excursions:
Exploration Ride
This ride offers a first glance of
the Argentine pampas and provides confidence on how safe
it is to ride our horses. We ride on nearby and vacant
paths and pass by haciendas and small granges.
Ride towards Espora
Espora is a small and lovely village nearby where a
small train station marks the meeting point for
neighbors and a place to refill canteens. It is also a
place where visitors are met by the maintenance worker
of the historical buildings who will wait for us with
some beverages and a quick meal (picada).
Ride to Videka blood-horse stud farm
Our friends, who are owners of
the stud farm, invite us to share a typical English Tea
in a high-style atmosphere.
Franklin
Our path leads us to quiet ranches
where animal cattle can be seen grazing on green
meadows.
In Franklin, some delicious
specialties from our kitchen wait for us. After a short
break, we make our way back.
Ride towards Tuyutí
As Espora, Tuyutí has a quaint
train station. Nevertheless, Tuyutí is far from traffic
roads and “in the middle of nowhere”. During this ride
we trot and gallop following the short gait, typical of
the Creole horse.
Thus we can admire the strength,
performance and endurance of these horses while we enjoy
the beautiful landscape. We take supplies in saddlebags
and stop for a picnic under a shaded tree along the way.
A typical day on a
cattle-ranch
Getting to know how the gauchos work: gathering the
cattle, working the corrals (vaccination, brand mark,
etc.).

2. Estancia Las Artes
- day trip |
|
|
Las Artes is
a typical farm of Argentina´s Pampa, 70 acres in size,
located near the city of Mercedes, Buenos Aires, only
100 km away from the obelisc. Its house, dated 1870, is
a typical representation of the smaller estancias of
Argentina. Las Artes
trains Arabian horses focusing specifically on
Endurance races. These are long distance races on
courses of natural terrain which require an excellent
health condition of the competing horse.
At Las Artes they have about 25 Arabian horses that they
have acquired from several established local breeders.
Among them some are being tamed while others are still
colts enough to freely horse around on the pasture.
Arabian horses are ideal for Endurance for being
specially resistant and docile. But above all they have
a natural grace and beauty which make them unique among
equine breeds.
GALLOPING
... that is LAS ARTES’ proposal. Las Artes shares the passion for horses of our guests.
They know that for most riders the maximum joy is not
only to sit on a great horse, but also to canter freely
through natural terrain. That is how LAS ARTES’ proposal
was born, offering the opportunity to those who wish to
ride on an excellent horse ando have the chance to make
an active ride over 20 km with a lot of cantering. You
get to ride the horses they train for competition! A
great sensation of freedom. A great way of getting to
know the fascinating Endurance sport and the world of
Arabian horses.
A DAY
at LAS ARTES looks as follows:
You arrive in the morning at the farm, and with the
welcome drink you learn about Endurance, Las Artes and
Arabian horses. Then you are introduced to the horses
and the adaptation begins where you get familiar with
your horse in the paddock. After all riders are ready
the actual ride starts, normally a 2 to 3 hour ride at
competition speed or a speed the group chooses. This is
either cantering or fast trot. The course is generally 27 km long covering an area
where we get to see the typical scenery of Argentina’s
Pampas: an infinite horizon spotted with eucalyptus
trees, huge cattle herds, our typical rural schools,
areas of wetlands with variety of birds: chajás, storks,
plovers, egrets, etc, During the ride there will be time
to stop and rest for a few minutes, rider and horse. The
guides are always there to assist the group and make the
ride perfect. Once back on the farm, lunch will be served to recover
your energy and maybe make a second small ride in the
afternoon. Another alternative is just relax, enjoying
the house and park, the pool, or sit next to the barn
watching other horse related activities. |

been an important part of Argentina's history and culture and
the inseparable partner of the gaucho - the inhabitant of the
Pampa.

artistic expressions, presents memorable scenes depicting the
traditions, the music, the dances, the culture, the dexterity of
the Argentine horsemen, and the powerful beauty of their horses.

Tango Shows
No
doubt one of the great attractions of Buenos Aires is the dance
wich made it famous: The Argentinian Tango.
Buenos Aires IS tango and you won´t want to miss its charm and
sensuality. Either if you want to learn to dance it or if you
wish to enjoy the best tango-shows in all the world, Meet Buenos
Aires can give you the best tango-tour imaginable.
The Argentine
people love to celebrate life. There are numerous nightlife
venues throughout Buenos Aires, with the Argentine Tango at the
heart of the after hours scene. The city practically dances to
the sound of a tango ballad, and this sultry dance can be
witnessed at many public gatherings around town. Some bars and
clubs specialize in tango performances, offering guests a
phenomenal show.
The gust, the tango,
that devilry"
- Writer & Nobel Prize, Jorge Luis Borges. |
"A sad thought that
dances"
- Popular poet, Armando Discépolo. |
This is how local cultured characters defined the
Tango, symbol of Buenos Aires identity and urban culure. Its
foundations come from beginning of the XX century, by the
contribution of the immigrants, with a tone of sorrow. In
its beginnings, it was a trasgressive music of the suburbs,
La
Boca, San Telmo,
afterwards it step forwards to the bars of the downtown,
Almagro. These days where
the times when Carlos Gardel,
the "zorzal criollo", became the myth of Tango, for his
magnificent voice and started with the Golden Years. In the
30's, the orchestras came out on stage, with the accordion
as main instrument. In the 50's there were tango's songs
more melodic, like the style which
Mr. Trolio and Mr.
Pugliese attributed to
Mr. Expósito's, Mr.
Castillo's and
Mr. Manzi's lyrics.
Although, the definition better realized of the city spirit
was accomplished by Astor
Piazzola, with the
Camara style, almost sinfonica, rejected by traditional
tango singers.
Every night, a
Tango show, the most famous argentine dance, is given in the
place, "Tangueria", where it
begun. Dinner with beverages included, show of dance, music and
argentine folk. But this is not the only place .... we have
access to over a dozen tango shows - from small and intimate to
big fancy theaters with excellent diner.
Tango shows are
available from from $80 and up -
