Introduction
Galicia
Spain
Known as the Costa da Morte (Coast of Death), this part of northern Spain was the furthest known land until explorers set sail in the Middle Ages. In pre-Roman times, people believed this was the place where souls rose to heaven, understandable when you witness the sun slipping into the vast ocean.
The Camino Santiago to Finisterre extends the Way of St James from Santiago de Compostela to the ‘end of the Earth’, a mystical and symbolic place to complete your journey. This Camino, although ancient, is far less travelled than those that end in Santiago, leaving you to fully appreciate the tranquil beauty of this unspoilt part of Galicia with few distractions.
