Seasons
Masuria's climate is typical of Central Europe with cold winter, warm summers and a number of rainy days through ought the year. Summer months are beautiful with lots of greens and flowers blooming. Thanks to its proximity to the sea, this region never gets too hot. It often snows during winter, even in the plains.
What To Bring:
What to wear
It is best to wear comfortable clothing which you don’t mind getting dirty!
Trousers: If you don’t have jodhpurs or breeches, then tracksuit bottoms or leggings will be perfect. Generally you should avoid trousers that are stiff or which have thick seams on the legs i.e: jeans, corduroys. Trousers must meet two requirements: to be long and to allow easy movement.
Boots: first of all, you must have full shoes or boots! Even in the summer we do not allow sandals or flip flops for reasons of safety. Shoes should come above the ankle and have hard soles with a definite small heel to them (sneakers or running shoes are not suitable). Wellington boots can be suitable as they are safe, quite comfortable and a good height.
Top: When choosing what to wear on your top half, you should take a few things into account. First, the outfit must fit to the body – we do not recommend to go horse riding in fluttering jackets and loose or oversized shirts. The instructor needs to see how the student sits and holds their back and shoulders, etc. Secondly, the outfit must be silent, meaning that it does not rustle in such a way as to distract or frighten the horse. Thirdly, your outfit must be comfortable allowing freedom of movement.
