Introduction
Dalmatia Croatia
Trail Dalmatian hinterland is suitable for riders that can walk, trot, canter and gallop. You will be riding on historical ancient old Roman roads and cattle paths through beautiful rural parts of Dalmatia known as Dalmatian hinterland.
You will be riding next to mountains Svilaj, Moseć and peaks of untouched nature. You will also explore the local culture as you pass through small villages full of friendly and hospitable people.

Guests will be arriving during the day. Transfer from Split airport, bus or railway station to the ranch can be arranged upon request. As an option, you can visit the city of Split with the UNESCO-protected Diocletian's Palace over 1700 years or a small town of Trogir, which is also under UNESCO protection.

Accomodation


Accommodations
This is a stationary ride, so all nights are spent in the same location.

Description
The Ranch offers basic accommodation in double and triple rooms (total of 5 rooms) with shared facilities. The rooms are split between 2 houses. One of the houses is located by the ranch and has 2 double rooms with 1 shared bathroom. The other house is located only 5 minutes away from the ranch by car (transport is provided) and offers 3 double rooms and one shared bathroom. The rooms are basic and simply furnished with bed linen and towels.
WIFI is available on site. Laundry is not available.



Room Occupancy
Single rooms can be requested, based on availability.
Triple rooms might be available depending on availability.



Meals
All meals from dinner on Day 1 to breakfast on Day 8 are included.
Breakfast and dinner are served at the Ranch and lunch is served in the countryside. Depending on the weather, meals are taken outside on the terrace or inside in the clubroom.

Most food comes from the local farms. We will be cooking outside on open fire or enjoy traditional Dalmatian homemade food (fruits, vegetables, meat and wine from our garden on the ranch).

Wine, beer, coffee, tea, and juices are included with all meals.

Dietary Restrictions
We can cater to most dietary restrictions with prior notice.

This trip includes some wine with dinner and can accommodate special dietary requests.

Riding


Riding Level
From intermediate to advanced riders. It is necessary to have a previous horseback riding experience and be familiar with the trot, canter and gallop. You also need to be in good physical condition due to the long hours of riding.
Participants are expected to take care and tack up the horses (help is provided if needed).

Horses
We have thirteen horses aged between 6-12 years. Breeds are Lipizzaner, English Thoroughbred and Croatian warm-blooded. They are extremely calm and reliable.

Note: Guests must know how to saddle and prepare a horse for riding.  Help is always provided.

Itinerary

Day 1 (Saturday): Arrival
At the ranch, on arrival you can relax with a small snack before dinner. You will also have time to get to know other guests, your host, make new friends and enjoy dinner with homemade wine.

Day 2 (Sunday): Introductory Ride
Morning starts with breakfast and a hot cup of coffee or tea. After breakfast you will get to know the horses and go on a ride to discover the surrounding nature. You will have time to choose a horse for yourself. You'll go through the fields where you will canter and gallop through natural pathways.
Lunch is taken at the ranch where you can rest. After lunch the afternoon is free to relax.

Day 3 (Monday): Svilaja Mountain Ride
After breakfast you will get ready for the trail. You will groom and saddle your horse before riding.
You will be riding the Svilaja Mountain, passing through the Dalmatian villages of Ogorje, Leskuri and Milesina on the way. After passing through the villages you will continue on ancient Roman roads to the mountain where you can relax with delicious picnic lunch.
After a well-deserved break you will continue to ride over the mountain to the village of Milesina. Then you will ride through the village Bracevic, before heading back to the ranch.

Day 4 (Tuesday): Orlove Stine Ride
The day begins with a ride through the fields and natural paths towards the mountain house called Orlove Stine. Lunch will be served at the mountain house, where you will enjoy the view of the Perucko lake, Cetina river and other mountains.
In the afternoon you will continue riding down the mountain to the ranch where you will be served dinner.

Day 5 (Wednesday): Relax (no riding)
If you are interested in visiting Split, there is a local bus that passes by the ranch and goes to the city. If not, you can always stay at the ranch and enjoy your free time in the nature or go for a swim in the pool, if the weather allows it.

Day 6 (Thursday): Zelovo Mountain Ride
Riding up the Zelovo hill lasts just over 2 hours. After a short break you will continue to ride for about 2 to 3 hours through small villages. On the way, you will have an amazing view of the fields, forests and nearby mountains. You will return to the ranch for a late lunch and drinks with your hosts.
The afternoon is free for a well-deserved rest.

Day 7 (Friday): Moseć Mountain Ride
After breakfast, you will ride to the mountain Moseć. You will ride through beautiful fields and pastures at the foot of mountains and streams and will ride on a gravel roads. You will be back at the ranch in time for lunch.
In the afternoon, you will go for another trail ride around the ranch.

Day 8 (Saturday): Departure
Departure is scheduled after breakfast (departure from ranch usually around 10 am).

Seasons
Split enjoys a balmy Mediterranean climate.

Summer
Summer temperatures can go as high as 30 degrees Celsius.

Winter
In winter, temperatures can drop to 0 degrees Celsius (but this is less common). It can get cold and fairly wet in winter. The rainy season is around mid September to October with 2-3 days of rain per week.

Spring and autumn have mild temperatures. May, June and September are the best months to visit.
