What to Bring for Two Creek Ranch Cattle Drive


There is no electricity on the trail, so leave those blow dryers, curling irons, shavers, and radios at home.
We carry a generator to charge batteries in the evenings. This is the only electricity we will have on the trail to charge phones.
Your cellular phones won’t work here either. Besides, you’re on vacation! 

This list is only a guideline for you 
  • Travel documents and Voucher

RIDING GEAR
  • Riding pants or Jodhpurs (used if possible!)
  • Long sleeved shirts
  • Boots with heels for riding (hiking boots don't make it, unless you don't want to ride)
  • Riding helmet  (recommended for all trips). No helemets are available to borrow, so if you wish to wear one (optional) please bring your own.
  • Riding gloves
  • Hat: cowboy or baseball.  Cowboy hats offer more protection from our intense sun, and are a must for the authentic programs
  • Rain coat/Wax jacket
PERSONAL CLOTHING
  • Heavy sweater and or wind breaker! Even in the middle of summer, when the sun goes down it gets cold
  • Comfortable T-Shirts/Shirts
  • Jeans
  • Shorts
  • Underwear and socks
  • Pyjama
  • Bag for dirty clothes
  • Walking shoes or hiking boots
  • Swimsuit
  • Inside shoes
  • Bandana
FOR CAMPING TRIPS:
  • Sleeping bag rated down to -10 F (-20 C) at least (* we recommend you bring your own sleeping bag but for those traveling light we can lend one from the ranch -- just ask ahead of time!)
  • Towel and small bar of soap
  • Flashlight

Riding Level Explained
ABeginner
Beginner A rider who has limited experience, is unable to post the trot and does not canter.
BNovice
Novice A rider who is capable of mounting and dismounting unassisted, capable of applying basic aids, comfortable and in control at the walk, moderate length posting trots, and short canters.
CIntermediate
Intermediate A rider who has a firm seat, is confident and in control at all paces (including posting trots, two point canters and gallops), but does not ride regularly.
D Strong Intermediate
Strong Intermediate An intermediate rider who is currently riding regularly and is comfortable in the saddle for at least 6 hours per day.
EAdvanced
All of the above, plus an independent seat, soft hands, and capable of handlinga spirited horse in open country.
Lodging: Standard
Lodging Level Explained
   
= Facilities in lodges, estancias, haciendas, resorts, etc.
   
Basic lodging - some with shared bathroom facilities, usually no AC or room service.
Regular standard room - usually with private bath.
 Accommodations with superior comforts.
   
 = Trips with nights in tent camps. Sometimes the first and last night are in hotels.
