North Coast Get-Away Ride

- North Coast of California -

Exciting Rides on the Beach and in the Redwood Forest are offered all year round. California's unique climate offers unmatched riding days even in the dead of winter. We encourage riders of all skill levels, including the very advanced. Your horse will be carefully matched to your riding ability, assuring your utmost enjoyment. The horses include numerous individuals who have been ridden to wins and high placing in major endurance races, dressage, and other competitive events. We offer full day rides along the Ocean on Ten-Mile Beach and into the Redwood Forest.

"Cantering over the sand on Tzar... it feels as though I'm astride a smoothly oiled bunch of steel bearings and powerful springs, upholstered in gray horsehide and responsive to my every whim. You know, I originally thought Nature's Ballet a rather prissy, silly name for a big stallion like Tzar's dad. Now I found myself thinking that this is not a bad name... not bad at all."

Along the way we stop for lunch at a scenic lookout. Back at the B&B we meet from 5 to 6 pm for wine and cheese. Overnight.
Day 3: Early breakfast and meet at the stables at 9:15 am. Today is again a long ride through ancient redwood forests, with ample opportunity for long trots and canters. After cantering on aptly named Ten-Mile Beach (or walking, if that better suits your style), riders strike inland though an enormous cattle ranch that ranges from the ocean, up the coastal ridges, back into the mountainous redwood forests. Lunch is included today. Alternatively your adventure may trek to the river headwaters, exploring old ranches and game trails.  5 to 6 pm wine and cheese. Overnight.
Day 4: After breakfast another day of riding fulfills a dream for many people, concluding a 4 hour morning ride in a long canter along the surf, while cormorants and osprey circle overhead, and seals and whales cavort off-shore. The afternoon is free for exploring Mendocino and the coast. Optional canoeing is available close by. Five o'clock Happy Hour.
Day 5: Departure in the morning after breakfast.

"It's been two weeks since you took us on our family reunion riding vacation and I am still heady from the experience.
I never thought horseback riding could be such fun!
It was absolutely magical and I have caught myself dreaming about being on horseback twice since then. (Something that never happened to me before in my life!) Lari, you were such a great teacher, guide and raconteur. How can we thank you enough?"
Yours very truly,
Caroline Hoyt

Add a Wine Tasting Tour:

Wine Tasting
Not too many people know that there are over 40 wineries and 16,000 acres of vineyards in Mendocino County. Mendocino produces more organic grapes than any other county in the United States. We have selected only the finest wineries of the Anderson Valley to showcase on our tours. One of California’s grape-growing regions with the coolest temperatures, the Anderson Valley is the pathway for the Navarro River to the sea, with vineyards planted from Boonville to just beyond Philo.
Each tour showcases a select group of Mendocino’s premium wineries. Your low-key tour guide will tell you as much as you want to learn about the history and future of viticulture in the Anderson Valley—or you can just kick back and enjoy the view. Our staff has close relationships both with the small family boutique wineries and the top-name estate cellars, affording us access and privileges for our clients that no other company can offer. Let our expert guides show you the best-kept secrets and hidden treasures of California’s Other Wine Country.           see Images of Wine Tour

SALMON FISHING

Fort Bragg, California, is a well-known port for sport salmon fishing, due to our ability to catch salmon within 20 minutes of leaving the harbor! During the peak of the season, All Aboard Adventures runs two trips a day. July and August are usually the top months in the season, with our anglers catching their limit of two salmon, 24 inches or more per day. The SEA HAWK landed the largest Salmon in the harbor in 2000! It was a gorgeous 45.6 pound King Salmon! Perhaps you'll catch the next record Salmon on your SEA HAWK fishing excursion.
