Ride, Relax,
Recharge! Experience the Best of the
Southwest for your perfect family
ranch vacation, honeymoon, corporate
retreat, or dream horseback riding
holiday. The Roberts Family invites
you to experience our spectacular
mountain setting and genuine western
hospitality, which we have been
serving at our Colorado dude ranch
for 38 years! Let us help you create
the best week of your year!
Forge a
relationship with your horse, work
cattle, trek into 500,000 acres of
wilderness at our back door, fish,
raft, water-ski, swim, soak, indulge
in a massage, and dine like royalty.
This is the ideal vacation
holiday for kids from 3 to 83.
Families, grandparents traveling
with grandchildren, couples and
singles have been creating
unsurpassed memories at our ranch,
near Durango, in southwestern
Colorado since 1970.
The secluded
ranch borders the magnificent Piedra
and Weminuche Wilderness Areas,
which host an abundance of wildlife,
crystal clear streams, open meadows,
high mountain vistas, and vast
mountain forests covering thousands
of acres. Boasting the nickname "The
Switzerland of America," this is
truly one of the most beautiful
areas in Colorado.
The riding
program is lead by certified
American Riding Instructors
Association (ARIA) instructors. This
structured approach is well suited
to all abilities--whether you are a
timid beginner or an avid rider. We
own our herd of horses, and many
were born at the ranch. We match our
horses to your ability and we offer
plenty of riding variety: Riding
instruction, half and all day scenic
mountain and valley trail rides,
fishing rides, trailblazing,
trotting and loping, cattle work, a
natural horsemanship clinic, arena
work, a gymkhana, and private
lessons. Trail rides explore the
spectacular Weminuche and Piedra
Wilderness Areas surrounding the
ranch, and our wranglers always
stress safety, learning and fun. We
believe strongly the more you learn
about horses, the less you fear, and
the more fun you’ll have!
