Riding &
Horses
Whether you’re a beginner or experienced rider, you’ll feel right
at home on our horses, enjoying the scenery as you ride through some of the
most beautiful country in Colorado. Our rides are grouped by ability, age,
and desire – and with 80 horses to choose from, we’re sure to find one that
suits you perfectly. We offer morning, afternoon, and all-day rides with no
more than six guests to a wrangler. The rides range from scenic walks to
loping through the trees and meadows, depending on what you’d like to do.
Horses — they are probably the main reason for your interest in a guest
ranch vacation. We love our horses and love sharing them with our guests.
Our program is tailored to accommodate all levels of ability and age groups.
You will enjoy our very personalized riding program geared to your
individual level of experience.
Beginning & First-Time Riders
If you have never ridden before or have limited experience, we will show
you the basics. You will find many of our guests are either first time
riders or have limited experience. We want you to feel comfortable on a
horse matched to your skills.
Our goal is to help you build confidence and expertise while riding through
meadows, along mountain streams and through our beautiful mountain forests.
Advanced Rider Program
As an experienced rider, you will be delighted by our progressive riding
program and challenging trails. A number of our guests are horse owners
themselves. They find our well-trained horses suited for their more advanced
skills. Many even enjoy working on their horsemanship skills with the
assistance of our qualified instructors.
We offer morning and afternoon rides, and even an all-day ride with never
more than six guests to a guide. The rides range from scenic walk rides
(with some TLC for those interested in a slower pace) to one-at-a-time
loping through the trees and meadows.
Much of your riding instruction will actually take place
out on the trail instead of in an arena. We emphasize different levels of
instruction based on classical equitation, while enjoying our spectacular
scenery, being safe and having fun. We do have a maximum weight restriction
of 240 pounds.
Our rides are grouped by ability, age and desire. Parents
are always welcome to ride with their children and we even offer a family
ride during the week.
If you can get Mary Carson (5 1/2) to ride like she did - you can do
anything...all three of my grandkids are planning to return. - J. Pitts
