Nothing really bothered me, except not having internet access in Glenbeigh was a bit of a hassle.

Other comments:

I did 4 other trips organized by Hidden Trails. So I am a "repeat offender". The horses, the countryside & the accommodations, as well as the fellow riders exceeded my expectations.

If I did not work & was independently wealthy I would go on a Hidden Trails trip every year!

Enjoyed the most:

Beautiful scenery, great weather (Cool weather and Sun!) Guide's knowledge of the trails and area, perfect pace for the level of riders experience, galloping on the beaches, trotting on the trails, Excellent horses (safe, steady, calm yet willing) for the trip, friendly and accommodating guides, and the most relaxing vacation we could imagine.

Bothered you:

saddles were a bit worn but comfortable none the less.

Enjoyed the most:

The Hotels chosen were absolutely wonderful, but not emphasized enough in the brochures

Bothered you:

I had no complaints at all.

A bonus: we had great weather, missed all the rain.

The scenery was amazing! And we were lucky to have decent weather - I got some incredible photos. And cantering on the beach at Glenbeigh was definitely a highlight.

Nothing really bothered me. I would have been nice maybe to have an extra break or two to stretch out muscles and it was also more road riding than anticipated.

I went on the 5-day ride in early August 2018. We met with the guides on the first day and picked out our horses. Clive was great and so easy. All the horses stayed sound despite a lot of road riding and rocky trails. We had some long hours in the saddle so you do need to be somewhat fit for this ride. Our guides were awesome and the trip was very well-organized. Thanks to Camille for all your help with this trip - I had a great time and the other women on the trip with me were great - we all had a lot of fun together :)

Enjoyed the most

The trip was amazing and I can’t say enough good things about the Stables, the owner and the two competent and fun young women who were our guides. The scenery was lovely, as was the weather, and the pace was excellent, lots of trotting and cantering. You definitely need to be in good shape and ready for 5-6 hours in the saddle daily.

Bothered you

The lunch sandwiches on Day 1 to 4 got to be a bit tedious, but that was a minor annoyance, compared to the other wonderful things about the trip.

The horses and the guide were amazing. Horses were well trained and easy to ride. Tack fit well and was comfortable. The guide was knowledgeable and very nice.

Nothing actually bothered me. For five days of riding, everything went very well. No issues occurred.

This trip was something I'd dreamed of doing for a long time. I held my expectations to a moderate level because you never know how riding tours might turn out. This one will be hard to top! Everything about it spoke for the operator's experience in doing these rides and about caring for the horses that are used. The horses exceeded my expectations a hundred time over. And for me, the horses are what it's about. Without a pleasant, well trained horse, a great ride can't happen. My thanks to Fia, my horse for the week, for making this happen. Hidden Trails made my booking easy and answered my questions promptly. The ride was well organized without any feeling of over control. The organizers had it down perfectly including the places we stayed.

The long rides each day improved my riding ability and gave me the opportunity to see such beautiful landscape. Each day was a different area with new things to experience.

Amazing and wonderful are the two words that first come to mind when describing my experience in Ireland. The horses were amazing, guides were friendly and knowledgeable and shared history of the areas we covered on horseback. I highly recommend Hidden Trails for any horse riding vacation. Everyone we met were friendly, professional, knowledgeable, the horses are very well trained, and I look forward to another vacation. My expectations were surpassed only by the beautiful country and the friendly guides and other riders on the trail. I was sorry to leave Ireland.

-Great Tour, we seen all terrain on horseback, crossing mountains, riding on the beach when tide was out, thru forest and interesting small lanes, thru farmers fields and homes. -Staff/guides where great, fun and experienced horse riders - Horses where fitting for the amount of work they did in a day - Hotels where the best in the area

I would recommend this stable. Donie O'Sullivan was wonderful and our guides, Eva and Marion were fantastic. I have ridden my whole life.  Riders need to be two things: experienced and FIT. This is more like Endurance riding in the US. I should have been more fit.  Riding a few times a week, an hour a day, does not cut it.  I will work out at the gym, three times a week for next year. The first day, we rode 25K.  Good motivator.

Having to stay in a single-file line all the time. I understand that is the best way to manage the group, but it felt a bit too "controlled" at times for an advanced rider. I also wish the group size had been bigger. My last riding tour had 11. It just creates more opportunties to meet people.

The folks at the riding stable greatly exceeded my expectations. They bent over backward to make sure we had everything we needed and were enjoying ourselves. Donnie and his family run a top notch operation!
I would have liked to have the opportunity to jump a little...but that was not an expectation.

Enjoyed the most: The ride was just so well organized and ran so smoothly. The country side and people were wonderful!

Bothered you: There was not one thing that bothered me. This is my 3rd overseas riding trip 2 with another outfitter and this was certainly the best!!

Comments: We had a wonderful week in Ireland, luckily very warm,sunny weather. The O'Sullivans run a thoroughly well organized trip, I can't say enough nice things about them, it was like a well oiled wheel. As far as Hidden Trails goes, everything was again well organized and I will certainly think of booking with you again. It really was a trip of a lifetime.

Comments: I thought it was so nice that they did this ride for two people, instead of just a big group. It is more relaxing with just a few people to me as well.  The O'Sullivans are so acommodating.  They go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable.

Enjoyed the most: The beautiful scenery; the very comfy saddles; companionship of other riders.

Bothered you: The price for the non riders in our group.  The food at the inns was good, but the lunches provided seemed to be below average.

Comments: All the people associated with the stables were wonderful; they even presented me with a birthday cake, complete with candles, on my special day. Thank you!

Enjoyed the most: The match between me and the horse that was selected for me, the beautiful nature and fresh air and the way the trail was conducted and executed. This is the 3rd time in my life that I have been on a horse trail and this is by far the most interessting one.

Bothered you: I did not like the quality and standard at one of the Bed & Breakfast for the 2 nights.

Enjoyed the most: Riding on the beach was a highlight for me.

Bothered you: We were not able to tack and groom our horses or turn them  out  ourselves after our ride.

Bothered you: There were no problems, not even an irritation. The lunches could have been better, i.e. more than groceries from the local supermarket from which we had to fix our own sandwiches, etc, but all in all it was a wonderful trip!

Comments: This was our best ride to date. Beautiful scenery,wonderful hosts and great horses. Accommodation and food was first rate. We would heartily recommend this ride to everyone.

Enjoyed the most: The entire experience was great! The horses where well trained and in excellent shape. Our host and guides were very knowledgable and very friendly. We had a great group of riders and spent each night with the whole group. And the food, accommodations and B&B owners were excellent.

Bothered you: It only rained 2 days and wasn't really cold but rain pants are a must for this ride. We had slickers and the wind continually blew them open and our pants got soaked!

Comments: Our equestrian trip to Ireland on the Ring of Kerry ride was fantastic. Driving from Shannon to Killarney ourselves was very easy and the road is extremely well marked. The horses were excellent and they were matched perfectly to each rider and that was really amazing, even our irons were adjusted properly without us ever riding there before. The B&Bs were good and the ride was run very professionally. It was all we expected and more and we enjoyed our trip very much and would sincerely recommend it to other riders. We had a great group of riders, 9 of us total (2 swiss, 2 english, 2 german and the 3 of us-usa). It rained two of the riding days but we had brought plenty of rain gear and it was very pleasurable. The only thing we would of done differently was to take rain pants because it was very windy when it was raining and the rain dusters would blow open on occasion and your knees would get a little wet. But the owner and the guides were extremely good and I have been a riding instructor for over 30yr and do not easily think others know what they are doing, the horses were quailty well trained/maintained/tacked, the food was very good and the sleeping accomodations were very comfortable and inviting.
