Enjoyed the most

Great variety in scenery; good orientation to horse and riding Mongolian style; great food and wonderful service from ALL on the trip. I had a marvelous time from start to finish. The horses, although semi-wild and " not docile", were very responsive to firm commands. Totally enjoyable!!!! 👍🏼 😀

Bothered you

That it had to end.

Comments

This is not my first trip with Hidden Trails. I have always received excellent service from the beginning of the trip through the end. Marlon is great as Hidden Trails trip coordinator! New, exciting, enjoyable, amazing. This was a once in a lifetime trip!!

Enjoyed?
The riding country is amazing and the horses make the trip - they are fabulous.

Bothered?
This is an adventure - few comforts are available and the experience is very dependent on being well prepared in terms of riding fitness and a 'can do' attitude. The saddles are also very different and their wooden frames meant the first couple of days for me was quite uncomfortable. The tents are very good although the mattresses are very thin.

The horses were much better than I expected them to be

Enjoyed the most: 8 days of being outside, camping & riding, scenery.

Bothered you: We didnt really get time to stop on the trail to take photos, we rode 4-5 hrs a day so an extra few minutes here and there for photo stops would have been nice.

Comments: I expected to have more interaction with local nomadic people. We had none except for our horseman guide who took us to visit his ger and family (which of course was very nice)but the write up lead me to think there would be more interaction.
Our mongol horse trails guide (Yogi) was fantastic, food was great, support staff were great, tents were awesome. Horses were good & reliable.

The horses were truly an experience - just fantastic.

I understand that there is no way to enforce riding standards, but I expected that all riders would be at least "intermediate" on this tour. The rigor of the riding is what led me to choose this tour, and some participants seemed below the stated standard.

Comments
It'd be nice if we could get maps of the local area (not UB) so we can follow along where we've been riding.
No issues with tents, latrines, food, etc.  I just expected folks to be at the same riding level.
