Absolutely FANTASTIC horses, beautiful scenery and terrain, great food, really nice accomodations, a knowledgable guide with an incredible sense of direction (though little or no English).

I have few complaints. I had a fantastic time and would definitely book through Hidden Trails again

Enjoyed the most: everything was fabulous. The best part was the food! I like how the trip included other site seeing besides just riding. The Antico Casale de Scansano was beautiful and Massimo the owner was so nice. We had an excellent guide, his daughter Marta, and the horses were great. There was plenty to keep us occupied.

Bothered you: The heat..but that's nature.

I think it would be helpful for this group to require a "riding test" at the beginning of the week to see if hotel guests have the necessary skills to go out on the trail. That would make the ride more fair to riders that are competeent.

The only reason I'm not committing to traveling with Hidden Trails again is that I'm getting old and most of your trips involve many hours in the saddle - more than I could handle and/or at a speed that would be difficult for me. Do you think there might be a market for you in offering a few 'senior rides'? Just a thought!

Hidden trails is a superior company! Allison did a spectacular job, all the information / trip documentation was inclusive & accurate, she was very informative for an overseas trip and very accommodating to any requests or questions that we had!

I ride western but this trip only provided English tack- however the horses and staff were excellent and I was not nervous after the first 30 minutes of riding English! A different ride everyday with the most SPECTACULAR views of the Tuscan countryside I think I have ever seen in my life! Amazing trip- well worth every euro/$!

Some of the horses did not get along between them and usually they kicked each other. Also they usually were scared by any little thing (for instance, dust raisen by the wind), but excellent horses. The breakfast was the same all days.

Enjoyed the most
The location was great (far enough in the countryside that we felt safe and isolated from tourist crowds, and driving the rental car was easy). The food was excellent and plentiful. The horseback riding was very good (good-quality horses for the better riders) but many of the trails were very rocky and were hard on the horses. Enrica Bartolini was an excellent owner/hostess and the English-speaking concierge staff were all great.

I was told that "beverages were extra," which is OK, but when they offered the house wine with meals it was never clarified whether I was being charged by the glass or by the bottle (I had only one or two glasses of wine with each meal). I wound up with a very surprising 75 euro beverage charge but it was not itemized as to how much for wine, coffee, bottled water, etc.

I appreciated Hidden Trails's prompt responses to all of my logistics questions (trains, rental car, etc.). It would have been useful to be told about how the taxi system works in Rome (i.e., it's a posted fixed rate (40 euros, no tip required) from the Rome main train station to FCO airport).

Enjoyed the most
The location in the country was beautiful, and the pools and lounging were just what the Dr. ordered. The horses were great, (though I missed grooming and saddling) and the barn and staff were excellent. The owner Enrica could not have been nicer. Accommodation was also super.

Bothered you
The "hotel style" set up meant that I was at a table alone rather than the B & B style where everyone ate together. Also, the short rides (3 hr.) meant that there was not time to go anywhere except locally around the estate perimeter - not too much to see, although it was pleasant in itself.

Enjoyed the most
The food is incredible! We forced ourselves to every meal whether we were hungry or not! Most of the time we were absolutly stuffed with excellent food and wine. It was my birthday and they made a special cake for us which was increibly sweet of them. The dinning area was cute and romantic, the view outside was incredible, very very pretty.

Bothered you
Both my husband and I wished the rides each day were a little longer...one or two hours more would have been perfect. Maybe if the rides had been longer I would have slept better on those hard beds.

I never recieved a physical address for the place we were staying at, so when our bags did not arrive at the airport on time, I couldn't leave an address with the airline for delivery...that was frustrating.
