enjoyed: The incredible mountain/volcano views, seeing the indigenous people working the land, and the peacefulness of the rides.
Bothered: Even though I prepared for the rides, I was still sore after the first couple of days.
Other comments: I did not ride the horses belonging to the Hacienda, but instead rode one of the horses belonging to the guide, an Anglo-Arab, very well-trained. I rode in an English saddle and was mostly comfortable, but should have taken a seat saver with me for the really long days. Each ride was an adventure...we scoured the countryside and the views were incredible. I was very lucky to have a guide all to myself with the exception of one day when we had two people join us.
I expected to be able to spend my trip riding and did just that. Each ride was spectacular. |
