Introduction
Westerwald
Germany
Join us on a progressive ride through Germany's mountains and forests of the “Taunus” and “the Westerwald” ranges along the Rhine and Lahn. You will get to experience first-hand the antiquated castles, cloisters and rural country estates of the country. Ride over quiet forest trails in endless untouched nature, explore deep valleys and hidden back-country. One evening you will have the chance to dine at a castle dating back to the middle age, while the next day you will see a spectacular demonstration of the falcons at the Maus Fortress. Another highlight of this special Rhine and Lahn holiday is a visit to the cloister of Arnstein and a unique overnight at an old watermill in the Gelbachtal. All accommodations (not including the watermill) are in quaint and comfortable country inns.

Climate: The climate in this area of Germany is most pleasant. From May to mid-October it is lovely, with warm days and mild evenings. Rains can occur anytime throughout the year, but in summer they are usually of short duration. You may even have the thrill of a thunderstorm after a hot day!
Limburg lies in the Limburg basin, which is blessed with a particularly mild climate. No matter which direction you approach the town from, the first thing you see is the region’s most prominent landmark: Limburg Cathedral with its seven towers, perched on a steep rock above the Lahn River and the Old Town.
