The small farm of Scuderia Castello is located in the hills of a nature park at 600 ft above the Lake of Garda. Discover the charming landscape of the Brescian Mountains on daily trail rides. The nature park of 95,000 acres stretches from the western shores of the lake at 195 ft, high into the mountains of the Dolomites at 6,000 ft. In this area you'll find a moderate Mediterranean climate with warm winters and not too hot summers. The landscape is varied with typical alpine flora and fauna for the region. Aside from the enjoyable horseback riding, there is cycling, climbing, canoeing, sailing, and swimming. The lake is only 1.8 miles from the farm and offers all the recreational facilities of a well-developed vacation destination. You will be riding well-trained Italian horses that are surefooted and reliable on even the most difficult mountain trails and are safe and controlled even at a fast gallop.

Accommodation in 8 new guestrooms, each with private bath and balcony with lake view. The cuisine features regional specialties from products of the farm.

Arrival on Saturday afternoon.

Sunday and  Monday enjoy a 2 to 3 hour trail ride with no scheduled activities in the afternoon, so you can spend your time as you please.

Tuesday and Wednesday enjoy 2 full day rides into the nature park.
Option to overnight in the mountain hut instead of returning to the inn - ride is about 60 kilometers.

No riding on Thursday.

Possible short ride on Friday.

Saturday departure.

Climate:

Italy has a largely temperate climate with regional variations. In summer the Northern parts of Italy are warm with occasional rainfall, the central region is somewhat stifled by humidity and the south scorches under the dry heat. In winter, conditions in Milan, Turin and Venice are dominated by cold, damp and fog and Tuscany's winter temperatures approach freezing, while temperatures in the south of the country are more favourable averaging 50-60ºF (10-20ºC). Most people visit Italy between June and August, however the best time to visit is in Spring (April-May) and Autumn (September-October) when the weather is good and the tourists are few. The sea is warm enough for swimming between June and September. Most Italians take their vacation in August and many shops and restaurants are closed during this period. The ski season runs between December and April and the best time to walk in the Alps is between June and September.
