Black Forest Germany
Our trail ride takes you to the extreme south of Germany, in the Southern Black Forest Nature Park!

Ride to the source of the Danube and experience the diversity and breadth of the Black Forest. Steep mountains, wide plateaus, forests and lakes form an ideal riding area! Discover the well-known places such as Titisee-Neustadt, Lenzkirch and St. Märgen, the hometown of the Black Forest foxes. You will be accommodated on the family horse farm and in quaint inns, where you can enjoy the regional cuisine.

Brewery Guesthouse in Lenzkirch
This authentic and traditional brewery (dating back to 1846) welcomes guests in 7 simply decorated guestrooms. The building has been built in typical Hochschwarzwälder tavern style. There is a small pond where you can cool off during the summer. There is no Wi-Fi available at this property.

Hotel in St. Märgen
This small traditional hotel (the building dates from 1865) benefits from an ideal location, offering panoramic views of Mount Feldberg. Rooms are cozy and all come equipped with a TV and private facilities. Free Wi-Fi is available in common areas and guests can enjoy swimming in the indoor pool all year round.

Hotel in Furtwangen
This atypical building is located at the foot of the Brend Mountain and benefits from a great view over the valley. The rooms are decorated in the traditional German style and are equipped with many wooden furniture. Each room features a TV, free internet connection and a private bathroom.

Guesthouse in Immendingen
This traditional guesthouse has 10 guestrooms, each featuring a TV and private bathroom.

Farmhouse in Neuhausen ob Eck
This small farmhouse accommodates riders in simple but comfortable accommodations. Bathrooms might have to be shared

Farmhouse in Irndorf
This farmhouse welcomes horse riders in 2 well equipped apartments. Each apartment has 2 double bedrooms and 1 bathroom.

Farmhouse in Böttingen
You will be accommodated in one of the 2 apartments located on a lama farm. Each apartment has 2 double bedrooms and a shared bathroom. The rooms are very charming and equipped with traditional furniture made mostly of wood.

Equestrian Farm 
We have two guest areas were created for a total of 8 guests.
This typical  Black Forest house is set in the middle of a small forest clearing. Below the pastures, the Brändbach River flows past. The guestrooms are very cozy and each room is individually decorated. From the rooms and terrace there is a wonderful view over the surroundings and you can watch the horses peacefully grazing on the lush meadows.

Room Occupancy
Single rooms can be requested during the Black Forest Trail only.
Single rooms are not available during the Danube Valley Trail.


Meals
During these trips, all meals are included (except for 2 dinners).

Breakfast and dinner are eaten at the accommodations.
Lunch is usually eaten in a form of a picnic on the trail.

Itinerary

Sample Itinerary: Black Forest Trail - Subject to changes

Day 1 (Sunday): Arrival
Individual arrival at the farm around 4pm. After dinner, we will have a meeting to go over the program.

Day 2 (Monday): Introductory Ride
After breakfast, we go on our first ride (approx. 3 hours). This is an excellent way to get to know your horse and explore the beautiful landscape of the southern Black Forest. Ride through woods and meadows before you return to the equestrian farm. Perhaps you will even have time to refresh yourself in the nearby Kirnbergsee. During dinner you can exchange your first experiences.

Day 3 (Tuesday): Ride to Lenzkirch
After breakfast, we prepare the horses and depart for our trail ride. The path leads us through secluded forests, crossing the Wutach River, a truly idyllic scenery!
Overnight in a guesthouse above a quaint brewery. Try a freshly tapped, regional beer at dinner!

Day 4 (Wednesday): Ride to St. Märgen
Today's ride takes us via Lenzkirch into the hilly landscape of the Black Forest. In Saig we go down to Titisee Neustadt, where we can enjoy a wonderful, panoramic view over the Titisee itself and up to the Feldberg (the highest mountain of the Black Forest). Then, we continue our ride to Heiligenbrunn, where we stop for lunch. After our break, we continue over a range of hills that offer incredible views. Finally, we reach the holiday resort of St. Märgen.

Day 5 (Thursday): St. Märgen to Furtwangen
After breakfast, the horses are saddled and off we go. On the way, we will see small villages, which are somewhat hidden through the Black Forest. The terrain is hilly and therefore somewhat more strenuous for horse and rider. Depending on the terrain, we might have to lead the horses. However, after the ascent you will be rewarded with a fantastic view! The view over the Schauinsland and the Feldberg as well as wide areas with forest and meadows form a perfect backdrop. The ideal stop to take pictures. Via the Brendturm, we reach the source of the Danube. In the evening, we arrive in Furtwangen. There we will visit the clock museum before having some dinner .

Day 6 (Friday): Ride back to the stables
We follow the Breg, one of the primary headstream of the Danube together with the Brigach. The two headwaters of the Danube will keep us company along our day's ride. We also enjoy some canters along old railway lines. Finally, we go up one last hill and reach the equestrian farm. In the evening, we enjoy our last dinner together with a glass of wine.

Day 7 (Saturday): Departure
Individual departure after breakfast. Before making your way home, you can take a stroll through the beautiful old town of Bräunlingen or visit a brine bath.

Day 2 (Monday): Ride to Immendingen
After breakfast, we prepare the horses and depart for our trail ride. The path leads us along the Brändbach River, through idyllic forest landscapes, until we cross the Danube (for the first time) in Pfohren. The horses can quench their thirst and cool off their legs.

Day 3 (Tuesday): Immendingen to Neuhausen ob Eck
Today, our trail leads us down a beautiful valley, near Möhringen, where we cross the Danube again. At noon, we stop for our picnic breaks and then continue riding through beautiful deciduous forests. In the evening, we reach Neuhausen ob Eck.

Day 4 (Wednesday): Neuhausen ob Eck to Irndorf
Today, we follow the beautiful Danube River, where no cars pass, surrounded only by pure nature. This is one of the highlight of the trail!

Day 5 (Thursday): Irndorf to Böttingen
We follow the trail across the Swabian Alb, in the direction of Böttingen, where we spend the night. The hilly landscape here is characterized by extensive, lush meadows - a true dream for riders and nature lovers.

Day 6 (Friday): Cattle Drive
Today, we have the opportunity to trail cows from one pasture to another, supported by real cowboys. It does not matter whether you already have experience with cattle or not.

Day 7 (Saturday): Ride back to the stables
After a refreshing breakfast, we will have the opportunity to put into practice what we learned on the cattle before heading back to the stables after lunch. In the evening, a delicious dinner is waiting for us.

Seasons
The climate in this area of Germany is most pleasant. 

During summertime, temperatures are warm and days are usually clear with chances of thunderstorm in the late afternoon / early evening. Those storms are usually heavy but short.

Fall is also a great time to visit with temperatures still being enjoyable and less tourists. It usually rains less than during the summer.
