Introduction
Lazio Italy
Treat yourself to a riding holiday at a beautiful country club hotel - just north of Rome!

The elegant equestrian center and hotel has extensive show-jumping and cross-country facilities with a wide range of experienced  and well trained horses.

The estate is perfectly situated only an hour from Rome, between the lakes of Bracciano and Martignano and offers a surrounding countryside excellent for horseback riding and with a wealth of history - Etruscan tombs, ancient Roman paved roads, fortified medieval villages and renaissance manor houses! The riding center, located conveniently within the hotel grounds, was the first in Italy to be given British Horse Society approval. Their extensive stable houses a top selection of horses ranging in size from  agile 14hh ponies to  mighty 18hh Irish Hunters and Jumpers. There are impressive facilities, including two large all-weather arenas, a comprehensive show-jumping arena and a thrilling cross-country course. The hotel estate extends over some 360 acres. Throughout the year, they offer a week long "Riding on the Estate" program offering a total of 18 hours of riding which can be any combination of instruction in show jumping or cross-country and relaxed hacking over the estate's beautiful landscapes. The hotel has 25 en-suite rooms available and seven suites that can be upgraded to, each suite with their own entrance to the garden. The food and wines offered by the restaurant are of excellent quality and another real highlight. Please note that the half-board option has a set menu, but if you prefer you can choose an a la carte menu option (additional cost). There is a swimming pool open in summer and the Wellness Center offers a welcome relaxation after a day in the saddle!

This country estate is an ideal base for non-riders, although you would probably find a rental car necessary to really enjoy yourself to the fullest. Activities available locally include fishing and sailing on Lake Bracciano, golf (at a selection of local courses), guided hikes, bike tours and kicking classes. Rome is only an hour away by train and we encourage you to visit this amazing city on your non-riding day!

There are a wide selection of horses and ponies to suit a broad range of riding abilities and ages. All horses are of the kindest nature and perform to a good standard of dressage, show jumping, hunting and hacking.
The Riding Centre is widely known for its respect toward animals, specially horses in all stages of their life. All horses are left to roam free in a herd over the farm, none of them will ever be put down just for an old age, lameness or injury, instead, they will spend in peace in this wonderful Country Side area the last days of their lives.

Seasons
While the overall climate of Lazio is considerably mild, the difference of humidity and temperature between the coastal towns and the inner cities is incredible. Rain is scarce along the coast and through the lowlands, in contrast to the inner and mountainous areas where rainfall is more abundant, particularly during the spring and winter months.

Along the coast the climate is warm all year-round.
Autumn (September to November) and Spring (March to May) are particularly balmy and are considered the best times to visit.
Summer (June to August) is usually hot but sunshine is guaranteed.
Winter (December to February) is often mild and rainy.

What To Bring:
Please bring your own riding boots/chaps, jodhpurs, cap or helmet!
