This ride is suitable for those who are confident cantering and have a sense of adventure. Our trails have been created using the knowledge of local guides to take you to the most unspoilt and untrodden parts.
All luggage will be transported between overnight stops for you.


Day 1: Arrival
We will pick you up from the airport or bus terminal in Pereira and bring you to our Rancho. Here, you will be welcomed into our home, with time to relax by the pool, explore the grounds and meet your horse. Also you will be given the chance to learn how to tack up western style. The evening will include a poolside BBQ and a trip briefing.

Day 2: Ride to Marsella
Depart from the Rancho after a relaxed breakfast and quick transfer to the hills of Risaralda. This morning, you will go on a short ride to apprehend the terrain you’ll be riding over the next 6 days. After lunch in the picturesque town of Marsella, you’ll head out for an afternoon sunset ride and your first taste of trail riding in Colombia!

Day 3: Andes Ride
Your horse will be groomed and tacked up for you, but feel free to join in and help. Today, you ride to the most northern tip of Risaralda and you will cross into the department of Caldas. Enjoy the endless views as you climb your way through the Andes, ending your day at a traditional coffee farm with over 200 years of production history.

Day 4: Ride to Santa Rosa
Our destination for the day is a stunning glamping resort, located just a stones throw away from the spectacular natural thermal hot springs of Santa Rosa. After lunch, you will pass the afternoon enjoying the thermal hot springs, soaking in the therapeutic waters. Spend an evening under the stars enjoying the warmth of a camp fire.

Day 5: Andean Rainforest Ride
This is a stunning day’s ride climbing forest trails and enjoying long canters along eucalyptus lined avenues. You will also ride along ridge tops with spectacular views, passing by waterfalls and crossing rivers on your way to the next overnight stop. Stay in a beautiful riverside chalet and take a dip in the river, in the middle of the Andean Rainforest.

Day 6: National Parkland Ride 
Today, we only ride during morning. It is a beautiful ride through national parkland with the possibility of spotting howler monkeys and sloths. Soak in views that span from our start location to our end destination. This evening, enjoy your a dip in the pool, set on the edge of protected forest.

Day 7: Ride to Filandia
We make our way through tropical forest and climb into the department of Quindío, towards the picturesque village of Filandia. We will be crossing streams surrounded by countless species of butterfly and birdlife. An incredible day’s ride ending at a welcoming horse ranch located high in the Andes mountains.

Day 8: Sightseeing (no riding)
Breakfast before a brief trip into Filandia. It is a chance to visit this beautiful traditional Colombian town, enjoy coffee in the town square and browse the artisan stalls before making our way back to the Rancho, near Cartago. Back at the ranch house you’ll enjoy a delicious meal.

Day 9: Departure
After breakfast, we take you to either the airport or bus terminal of Pereira, depending on your plans.

Riding Level Explained
ABeginner
Beginner A rider who has limited experience, is unable to post the trot and does not canter.
BNovice
Novice A rider who is capable of mounting and dismounting unassisted, capable of applying basic aids, comfortable and in control at the walk, moderate length posting trots, and short canters.
CIntermediate
Intermediate A rider who has a firm seat, is confident and in control at all paces (including posting trots, two point canters and gallops), but does not ride regularly.
D Strong Intermediate
Strong Intermediate An intermediate rider who is currently riding regularly and is comfortable in the saddle for at least 6 hours per day.
EAdvanced
All of the above, plus an independent seat, soft hands, and capable of handlinga spirited horse in open country.
